Band Conversion Logic
Band scores are calculated as follows:
- Listening and Reading: Converted using standard IELTS band conversion tables
- Writing and Speaking: User-selected from a dropdown (0.0 to 9.0 in 0.5 increments)
- Overall Band: The average of the four module scores, rounded:
- Up to nearest 0.5 if average ends in .25–.74
- Up to nearest whole number if average ends in .75–.99
Example
Input:
- Listening: 34/40 → Band 7.5
- Reading: 32/40 → Band 7.0
- Writing: 6.5
- Speaking: 7.0
Overall Band Calculation: (7.5 + 7.0 + 6.5 + 7.0) ÷ 4 = 7.0 → Overall Band: 7.0
