How to Use the GPA Calculator

GPA Scale
Grades are calculated using the following 4.0 and 5.0 scales:
Unweighted GPA:
- A+, A = 4.0
- A− = 3.7
- B+ = 3.3
- B = 3.0
- B− = 2.7
- …down to F = 0.0
Weighted GPA (AP/IB/Honors):
- A+, A = 5.0
- A− = 4.7
- B+ = 4.3
- B = 4.0
- …down to F = 0.0
Example
Add a year called “Sophomore Year” and input:
- Honors Biology (AP) – Grade A – 1.0 credit
- Algebra II – Grade B+ – 1.0 credit
- History – Grade A− – 1.0 credit
The tool will calculate:
- Weighted GPA: approx. 4.57
- Unweighted GPA: approx. 3.67
