How to Use the GPA Calculator

GPA Scale

Grades are calculated using the following 4.0 and 5.0 scales:

Unweighted GPA:

  • A+, A = 4.0
  • A− = 3.7
  • B+ = 3.3
  • B = 3.0
  • B− = 2.7
  • …down to F = 0.0

Weighted GPA (AP/IB/Honors):

  • A+, A = 5.0
  • A− = 4.7
  • B+ = 4.3
  • B = 4.0
  • …down to F = 0.0

Example

Add a year called “Sophomore Year” and input:

  • Honors Biology (AP) – Grade A – 1.0 credit
  • Algebra II – Grade B+ – 1.0 credit
  • History – Grade A− – 1.0 credit
